Mercedes-Benz India has revealed that the brand will debut the GLS facelift at the beginning of 2024 marking it as the first of many to come from the German brand in the new year. The updated SUV will be launched at the end of the brand's Annual Press Conference on January 8, 2024.

The design improvements to the new GLS will be evolutionary, as with any facelifted model. The front grille will be redesigned and larger, with four horizontal louvres in Silver Shadow. The headlights will have a new LED pattern, and the front bumper will be reprofiled with new air inlet designs and gloss black surrounds.

However, there are more upgrades on the interior than on the outside. The most significant is the updated MBUX infotainment system. In addition, the newly introduced 'off-road' option will employ the 360-degree camera to create a visual experience on the screen. The SUV will also include the brand's distinctive transparent hood to aid in off-road conditions.

Customers will be able to select between Catalana Brown and Bahia Brown interior themes for the GLS, which will be available as a standard seven-seater SUV.

There are no mechanical updates under the hood of the vehicle. The GLS 450 4Matic will be powered by a 3.0-litre six-cylinder petrol engine, while the GLS 400d 4Matic will be powered by a 3.0-litre six-cylinder diesel engine. The 9-speed automatic transmission and 4Matic AWD system will be standard on both GLS facelift models.

The car will most definitely be priced north of the Rs 1 crore (ex-showroom) mark.
