Maruti Suzuki Jimny India launch soon: What do we know so far?

Maruti Suzuki Jimny is once again making the headlines as it has received over 24,500 bookings. It is also important to note that the launch of the long-awaited five-door SUV is likely to take place in the coming weeks. While the Jimny made its public debut at the Auto Expo 2023, it has already arrived at select Nexa dealerships across the country. Here is all you need to know about the soon-to-be-launched Jimny five-door.

Maruti Suzuki Jimny: Engine and transmission

The Jimny gets a K15B 1.5-litre, inline four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine that develops 105PS and 134.2Nm of torque. This unit can be coupled to a five-speed manual or four-speed torque-convertor automatic transmission. Also on offer is Suzuki's AllGrip Pro four-wheel-drive system.

Maruti Suzuki Jimny: Variants and Colours

Maruti offers the Jimny is a choice of two variants, namely Zeta and Alpha. Moreover, it comes with five single-tone and two dual-tone colour options. The mono-tone shades include Nexa Blue, Pearl Arctic White, Sizzling Red, Granite Grey, and Bluish Black. The dual-tone colour schemes are Kinetic Yellow with Bluish Black roof and Sizzling Red with Bluish Black roof.

Maruti Suzuki Jimny: Features

The feature-list of the Jimny comprises a nine-inch SmartPlay Pro+ touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, LED projector auto headlamps with washer, fog lights, cruise control, Electronic Stability Program (ESC), ABS with EBD, six airbags, hill hold and descend control system, a multifunctional steering wheel, a rearview camera, powered ORVMs, an Arkamys sound system, and engine start/stop switch, among others.

Maruti Suzuki Jimny: Dimensions and rivals

The five-door SUV measures 3,985mm in length, 1,645mm in width, and 1,720mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,590mm. It has a ground clearance of 210mm. Meanwhile, the Maruti Suzuki Jimny competes against the Mahindra Thar and Force Gurkha in India.
