All-new Hyundai Verna launched; prices start at Rs 10.90 lakh

Hyundai has launched the all-new Verna in India with prices starting at Rs 10.90 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom). The new generation sedan is available in a choice of four variants: EX, S, SX, and SX (O). Powertrain options include two petrol engines, including a new turbo unit, while Hyundai offers three distinctive transmission options. Notably, the new Verna has received over 8,000 bookings within a month of bookings commencement.

2023 New Hyundai Verna launched: Design

The new-gen Verna bears a radically designed exterior. A large and wide 'parametric jewel' grille, sharp cuts and creases, various angular panels, a full-length light bar at the front and rear, and unique alloy wheels dominate the design language of the new sedan.

Hyundai offers seven mono-tone colours and two dual-tone paint jobs. The single-tone shades include Atlas White, Typhoon Silver, Fiery Red, Tellurian Brown, Starry Night, Titan Grey, and Abyss Black. Whereas, the Turbo variants can also be had in Fiery Red and Atlas White dual-tone paint options with a black roof. Additionally, the Turbo variants get black alloy wheels and red brake callipers.

2023 New Hyundai Verna launched: Interior

The new minimalist interior boasts numerous features. It has a black and beige dual-tone cabin, while the turbo variants get an all-black interior with red inserts. Plus, the seats have leather upholstery. Moreover, Hyundai has given it a 10.25-inch fully digital driver display, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a new steering wheel, a powered driver seat, a wireless charging pad, and heated and ventilated front seats. Plus, the sedan has a boot capacity of 528 litres.

2023 New Hyundai Verna launched: Features

The South Korean auto major has bestowed the new Verna with a raft of features, such as six airbags, an electric sunroof, paddle shifters, 64 colours ambient lighting, Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa compatibility with Home to Car connectivity, Bluelink with more than 65 connected car features, OTA updates, smartwatch support, auto headlamps, ABS with EBD, LED headlights, four-wheel disc brakes, ESC, VSM, HAC, electric parking brake, IRVM with anti-dazzle function, cornering lamps, TPMS, front and rear parking sensors, and rearview camera, among others.

Further, the new Verna is equipped with a Level 2 autonomy that comprises 17 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). It gets comprise forward collision warning, emergency braking (car, pedestrian, cycle, and junction turning), cruise control with stop and go, high beam assist, blind-spot collision warning, blind-spot avoidance assist, lane departure warning with lane keep assist, lane following assist, driver attention warning, safe exit alert, leading vehicle departure alert, and rear cross-traffic alert with rear cross-traffic avoidance assist.

2023 New Hyundai Verna launched: Powertrain

The 2023 Hyundai Verna is powered by two engine options: a new 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged petrol producing 160PS and 253Nm of torque and a 1.5-litre, inline-four, naturally aspirated petrol unit that makes 115PS and 144Nm of torque. While the former comes mated to a six-speed manual or seven-speed DCT automatic transmission, the latter is coupled to a six-speed manual or CVT automatic transmission. Both engines are RDE-compliant and can run on E20 fuel.
