The Honda City hybrid will be

offered in two variants when it goes on sale, the mid-spec V and top-spec ZX trim. The RS cosetic package that the hybrid is paired with in the Thai market is unlikely to make its way here, although the top City Hybrid ZX will get the Honda Sensing suite of advanced driver assistance systems. This should include adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, forward collision warning and auto emergency braking.

Other features already available on the Honda City ZX include LEd headlamps, sunroof, 16-inch alloys, climate control, powered seats, tilt and telescopic steering, semi-digital instrumentation, an 8-inch touchscreen and six airbags. An electronic parking brake should also be added.

2022 Honda City hybrid specifications, mileage

The Honda City hybrid is powered by a 1.5-litre Atkinson cycle four-cylinder petrol that put out 98PS and 127 Nm. This pairs with a 109PS and 253 Nm electric motor fed by a 0.7 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. An e-CVT gearbox then transmits power from the drivetrain to the wheels.

The drivetrain should offer three drive modes if the Thai-spec City is anything to go by. This will be an EV-only, hybrid mode that uses both powertrains as well an ICE-only mode. There should also be a regen function to harvest energy. This version returns 27.5 kmpl as per Honda's claims in Thailand so a similar figure can be expected here.

2022 Honda City hybrid expected price

The Honda City hybrid should come at a Rs 2 to 2.5 lakh premium over the current fifth-gen City. Prices for the City start from Rs 11.33 lakh and go up to Rs 15.08 lakh for the petrol versions.
