Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 longterm review: After 6,320km and seven months

There is no denying that the Interceptor 650 is unbeatable when it comes to value. It's what we found out after pitting our long-term bike against the KTM 390 Duke and the Honda CB300R.

Besides the comparison test, I've been riding the big Enfield to work and back and barring a couple of issues, it's been smooth sailing. The first issue is the blown tail lamp fuse. It happened all of a sudden and the service centre attributed the cause to a spike in voltage. I got a new bulb installed for a little under Rs 50.
The second issue I've noticed is a strange, squishing sound from the front forks. I've heard it on numerous occasions while riding at low speeds, over bad roads. I'm going to have this checked when the bike heads for its second service.

I've also got plans to tour on the Enfield, after discovering how easy it is to cruise on the highway. It's going to be interesting since I already know that the upswept exhausts will interfere with the installation of a regular saddle bag. Maybe I'll have to think of some other way of mounting luggage. Time to go scouting
for a solution.
